This 2012 Mitsubishi EvoX GSR came to us to get some serious power, but the customer wanted to keep it reliable and reasonable for use as a daily driver.
To achieve this, we installed a full race EFR 7670 Turbo. For thermal management, we had the turbo ceramic coated and put in a heat-shield for it as well. To support this big turbo, we also installed a complete fuel system. This includes Fuel Injector Clinic (FIC) 1095 injectors, fuel pressure regulator, AMS fuel rail, and Walboro 450 in-tank pump.
To further improve airflow, we also fitted a Greddy Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC).
With all the added power, heat has the potential of becoming an issue under the hood. For increased heat management, we created custom heat shields for the intake and ABS fuel pump.
To handle all the extra power, we also upgraded the clutch with an Exedy Double Heavy Duty Clutch.
In addition to increased performance, the customer wanted a classy improvement to the appearance as well. We replaced the stock plastic valve cover with a high-quality metal one that was powder coated with a Ferrari Wrinkle Red finish. We also added a carbon fiber rear wing from APR.
As always, the most important part of any build is the professional engine tune that we created for this car. The tune takes full advantage of all the upgrades we put in, while delivering reliable performance for day-to-day driving on the street.
