Can the P3 Gauge display both English and Metric units?
Yes — you can configure units to English, Metric, or a mix (PSI/BAR, °F/°C, MPH/KPH, etc.).
Do I need the optional sensors?
Most vehicles don’t need extra sensors for standard OBD2 readings. Certain setups (aftermarket boost/ethanol, or data not provided by the ECU) may require optional analog sensors/adapters depending on what you want to monitor.
Do I need to buy anything extra or is it plug and play?
For most installs, it’s plug-and-play. Add-ons exist for specialized installs, extra sensor inputs, or if you want to keep your OBD2 port free.
How does the P3 Gauge get data from my car’s existing sensors?
It reads through the OBD2 port like a diagnostics reader. If you prefer a cleaner setup, a hardwire harness option can keep the OBD2 port available.
How hard is it to install and how long does it take?
Install time varies by chassis, but many are 5–30 minutes. If you want a factory-clean finish (or you’re already modified), Velocity Factor can install and verify everything for you.
Will installing it in the vent affect heating or A/C?
These gauges are designed to retain airflow through the vent with minimal compromise for normal use.
Will modifications or tuning affect my readings?
Most standard bolt-ons and ECU flashes won’t affect readings. Some piggyback tuning strategies that alter sensor signals can change what the ECU reports; in those cases an optional analog sensor may be the better source for specific data.
Will installing a P3 Gauge void my warranty?
In general, using an OBD2 diagnostic device does not automatically void a vehicle warranty. If you have concerns, we can walk you through a low-impact setup.
