We recently had the opportunity to work on a brand new 2015 Ford Mustang GT with the Performance Package. Ford did most of the work with this comprehensive performance package but there are always areas to improve. The owner’s wish was to enhance handling, engine power and sound. We installed a set of Eibach Pro Lowering Springs that gives the Mustang better control when cornering and does not affect the factory ride quality. These lowering springs are designed exclusively for the Mustang GT. At over 400 horsepower, the new Mustang GT engine is far from underpowered. Still, a few more horses out of this pony car wouldn’t hurt. To assist at the front we installed a JLT Cold Air Intake. This air intake has a factory look to it and includes a heat shield to keep out all the hot air generated by the powerful 5.0 liter V8. Out in the back we installed a Roush performance exhaust system. Roush is a renowned name in the racing world with victories in NASCAR and the Continental Sport Car Challenge. Performance upgrades like an Air Intake and an Exhaust System can make a considerable difference on bigger engines like the 5.0 liter V8 in this Mustang. To better integrate their functionality, we uploaded a custom ECU tuning. This Mustang is no longer a Pony Ride. With the Velocity Factor touch, this Mustang is now a full blooded thoroughbred race horse. See you at the track.
