Velocity Factor – 2015 Volkswagen GTi APR Stage 1 ECU and Carbon Fiber Intake with H&R Lowering Springs and Wheel Spacers

A Hotter Hot Hatch

Some say that the British created the term Hot Hatch (short for Hot Hatchback) to describe the Golf GTI. The GTI is still referred to as the original Hot Hatch by many around the world. At Velocity Factor, we just made this one even hotter. While it size is much larger than the original GTI from ’76, it is still a compact car with a reputation to punch much above its weight. We gave this Tornado Red GTI a much more visceral bite to back up its bark. We installed APR Stage 1 ECU Upgrade along with an APR Carbon Fiber Intake. This MK7 now generates 326 Horsepower and 381 lb/ft of torque. This, from a 2.0 four cylinder turbo engine. As with all 2015 GTIs, this engine tune is done through the OBD II port. This makes the waiting time much shorter for our customer. You’ll be enjoying a more powerful GTI in less time than before. To handle this new-found speed we installed H&R Sport Springs and H&R Wheel Spacers. H&R components are designed and manufactured in Germany to the highest of standards. This is a preferred brand among German tuning enthusiast and has a reputation of quality, durability and performance. The H&R Sport Springs lowers the ride height 1.3′ front and back. Vehicle performance is instantly improved in many parameters with no sacrifice in ride quality or comfort. These springs were designed to work in conjunction with the factory dampers. To further enhance stability and improve the looks of the lowered ride, we installed H&R Wheel Spacers. We opted for a wider setup in the back than in the front to compliment the GTI natural progressive shape. To accomplish this, we installed 10mm Wheel Spacers in front and 15mm Wheel Spacers in the rear. H&R Wheel Spacers are Hub Centric. This design feature makes them safe to use on the road as they sit perfectly on the axle hub. Wheel Spacers are a simple and effective way to increase the track of each axle on your car and save you from having to buy wider wheels and tires to get a similar performance benefit. This build is an example of how we can help you turn up the heat on your 2015 GTI.
